Kalabharati was founded for communal harmony after the unfortunate Mumbai communal riots of 1993. It has organized music performances every Sunday, More than 500 renowned national and international artists from across the country have participated in these programmes of Kalabharati. Music concerts, dance performances drama and film shows have been organized under the scheme.

• A minimum of Rs. 3 Lakhs is spent for the programmes under the scheme every year.

• This scheme has received wide appreciation from all corners of the country.

• It has organized several Sangeet Sammelans and Utsavs.

Drama and Theatre

• Since the past 21 years, every year, All India National Level Kuvempu Memorial Drama Competition very Year in which more than 200 drama troupes have participated so far.

• Scheme to promote drama among Mumbai troupes.

• Children drama festival "Kinara"

• Every year three drama festivals organized with non-resident drama teams.

• Marathi drama Festival, Multi- language Drama Festivals.

• Drama Troupe of Kalabharati has performed drama at different parts of the country regularly and has won many honours.
